What is asbestos and why do I need it removing from my property?
Asbestos is a naturally occurring fibrous mineral that has good insulation properties, as well as being resistant to heat.
It was used in the construction sector in the UK for decades but was found to cause long term lung diseases when it is breathed in, which is why it was banned from use in the UK in 1999.
