We have been inspecting and removing asbestos from industrial locations for over 20 years.

We specialise in removing licensable asbestos (which is work where there is high levels of airborne asbestos fibres, that is also labour intensive removal work - more can be read about this on the HSE website) from industrial and commercial locations. We aim to go above and beyond to ensure the health and safety of our clients and staff, whilst also ensuring that our clients day-to-day business operations are as minimally disrupted as possible, whilst we remove the asbestos containing materials from site.

Below are examples of some of the sectors we regularly remove asbestos from -

If you suspect you have asbestos containing materials in or around your property in Mansfield, or you would like peace of mind by having an asbestos survey to determine if asbestos is present in the property you own or manage then get in contact with us now.

Is it common for asbestos containing materials to exist in UK properties?

Asbestos containing materials were used widely across the construction sector in the UK for many years, until they were fully banned from use in 1999.

Asbestos was a common material to use because it has excellent insulating properties, as well as a melting point of 1600°F. It was eventually connected to long term lung disease when breathing asbestos fibres in, hence why it was banned from use in the UK.

If you are 'the landlord, tenant or managing agent of a commercial property you may be responsible for managing asbestos', with penalties up to £20,000 or one year in prison if you do not have a plan to deal with the asbestos on the property.

Knowing what asbestos containing materials can look like can be tricky because of the many products that it can be in. This is why it is important to have an asbestos survey carried out to determine if asbestos exists on site and if so, what type. Examples of some of the most popular items we find asbestos in, include -

  • Artex - which is a patterned and textured wall covering
  • Sprayed on wall and floor coverings
  • Lagging on boilers and pipes
  • Asbestos cement
  • Asbestos insulation board in window frames and wall panels
  • Cisterns
  • Water tanks

The HSE has a page which shows just how widely asbestos was used across the industrial sector.

If your premises in Mansfield are built before the year 2000 then you can get in contact with us now to carry out an asbestos survey and then we can create and execute a plan to remove the asbestos safely if its shows up from the survey.

What qualifications are required to remove licensable asbestos?

Working with and removing licensable asbestos requires UK companies to hold two licenses -

  1. A licence to work with asbestos insulation and asbestos insulation board for the purpose of removal
  2. A waste carriers registration number to transport hazardous waste.

Both of our licenses can be read about here.

Health and safety is paramount to our operation, which is why we are members of the following bodies, who regularly keep us up to date with the latest health and safety guidance.

We also hold certificates for ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001. These can all be downloaded here.
